The process of setting up a dual boot is easy when you have decided the steps to take but Although it sounds complicated, Before preparation for the dual boot, first go through compatibility check 'Windows 8 minimum hardware requirements'.
Before proceeding to dual boot i would recommend to back up your files. This process shouldn’t change any of your files or programs, it is always good to have a backup as an precautionary step.

How to dual boot Windows 8 and Windows 7
This tutorial assumes that you already have Windows 7 installed in your computer.
Once you are ready to go, create a new partition on your hard drive where Windows 8 will install without interfering with the currently installed Windows 7 OS. To do this, click on Start → Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Computer Management → Disk Management OR click Start and type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter. A screen shows the current configuration of your hard drive.
Find the drive that Windows 7 is installed on usually C: (it should be marked as “Boot” or “System”), right click on it, and click Shrink Volume. A window appears showing you how much space you have to work with. You then fill in the amount of space that you want to allocate to the Windows 8 partition. In theory the minimum install size for Windows 8 is around 20GB, but I recommend that you have at least 30GB and if you have the room, go up to 50GB (50000 MB).

Right click unallocated and select New Simple Volume. Click through the dialog windows and give the new volume a memorable name such as Windows 8.
You also can click on the perform a quick format. This process will format the new partition, this may take a few minutes. When complete, the new partition will appear.
Installation Windows 8
Now all you have to do is install Windows 8 on the new partition. You can purchase a DVD from Microsoft, The easiest way to do this is to have Windows 8 on a USB drive. then reboot and begin the installtion process.See how to change the boot priority of your DVD drive/USB pen drive in the BIOS
When boot from the desired option, select a Custom install (not Upgrade). On the next screen you’ll be shown a number of partitions/volumes. Select the one that’s labeled Windows 8 (as we have given the name previously). make sure that you’ve selected the right volume, then click Next.
Now Windows 8 installer will do its process. It will reboot once or twice, but eventually you’ll be asked to choose with a multi-boot menu that allows you to select which OS you want to load (Windows 8 or Windows 7). Windows 8 will load by default after a few seconds (30 Sec.).
